Eva Gabor was a Hungarian-American actress known for her roles in film and television, including the popular TV sitcom “Green Acres.” During her career, Gabor formed many relationships with fellow actors and industry professionals, but one person stood out as her very best friend: Eddie Albert.
Albert was an American actor and activist who appeared in over 200 films and television shows. He is best known for his role as Oliver Wendell Douglas, the lead character in “Green Acres,” alongside Gabor’s character, Lisa Douglas.

Gabor and Albert met on the set of “Green Acres” in the mid-1960s, and quickly became close friends. Their on-screen chemistry was palpable, and their off-screen friendship was just as strong. Gabor often spoke of Albert as her best friend, saying that they had a special connection that went beyond their roles on the show.

In a 1973 interview with People Magazine, Gabor said of Albert, “He’s my best friend. We’re like brother and sister. He’s a wonderful man, and I love him dearly.” She went on to say that their friendship had been a source of support for her during difficult times in her life, and that she valued his kindness and understanding.
Their friendship lasted for decades, even after “Green Acres” went off the air in 1971. They remained in touch and continued to support each other in their respective careers and personal lives.
