Amid the handful that come to mind, none have retained their allure quite like “Tequila” by The Champs. Released in 1958, this track topped both the pop and R&B charts, and despite numerous covers, the original remains unmatched. The included clip showcases a live rendition of the song from an episode of the Saturday Night Beech-Nut Show. While the audio might not match today’s standards of clarity, the experience remains delightful (especially with the introduction of the saxophone).
