I am writing an article called “the little toy that will turn your kids’ snacking time into a fun experience – Finger chopsticks!

An odd goodie bag surprise.

Birthday parties bring some of the most interesting and confusing items. Stickers, bouncy balls, plastic whistles, and candy (you never know how much) come together as the ultimate surprise. Sometimes you’ll see something that you’ve never seen before. It will be made of plastic, has loops and prongs and some weird shape, but you’re sure it’s going to do something!
That odd little plastic thingamajig is a Finger chopstick toy.

What are Finger chopsticks?

Finger chopsticks are a new spin on traditional chopsticks. Instead of using two individual sticks when eating with chopsticks, you put your fingers in each loop/hold in the chopstick and then pick up food and other small things.
They usually resemble small tongs, training chopsticks, mini-tools from a toy doctor kit etc., however; they all serve a single-purpose. To teach children the ability to pick-up things with ease.

Why do they keep popping-up in birthday goodie Bags?

They pop-up frequently due to the fact that they are inexpensive, light weight, colored, and odd enough to make a child curious. Children can utilize Finger chopsticks to pick-up cereal, marshmallows, grapes, gummy candy, and any number of different snack foods. Some children also choose to use them to pick-up Lego bricks, paper scraps, or any other object lying on the table.

A tiny game at snack time

Some of the fun comes from the challenge. Finger chopsticks add an element of playfulness to doing everyday tasks. For example, can you pick-up one raisin? How about 5? Can you transfer candy from one container to another without spilling it? Now snacking has become a mini-game.

Additionally, these types of toys provide a real benefit to children. Toys such as Finger chopsticks aid in developing fine motor skills through the pinching action which helps develop hand-eye coordination and Finger control and strength.
This type of toy falls into the same category as training chopsticks or kid friendly tweezers utilized during sorting activities.

A classic silly good old days type toy

But overall the best part about Finger chopsticks is simply their silly nature. They fall under the category of those classic party favor toys that immediately resonate with children and cause adults to view them with wonder.
You may not be able to keep them forever and eventually you’ll lose interest in them or they may get lost or thrown away. However for a short period of time they create an opportunity to turn ordinary snacks into a small adventure.
